Timber Harvesting at China Bottom

A photo showing Timber Harvesting at China Bottom

The Forest of Dean is a working Forest and from time to time timber is harvested. Following the harvesting, the felled areas will be replanted.

Information from Forestry England: The replanted tree species are planned to be Douglas Fir, Red Cedar and Sessile Oak at a ratio of 50/30/20. Key to this restock is Forestry England’s long term aim for forest resilience against pests and diseases and climate change through species diversity.
