Felling has taken place in Noxon Park during the Autumn and Winter of 2021. Thinning in some places will allow more light to reach the forest floor and may awaken dormant plants in the Spring.
The clear-fell in other places has opened up some views – but a side effect can be seen in wet weather – large areas of mud churned up by the heavy machinery used in the Forestry work.
Following timber extraction, reparation to the tracks was carried out when time and conditions permitted.
The thinning makes a Yew tree easily visible from the footpath. The fenced areas are scowle holes.
